Campbell: Give Me A Chance Fergie

Sun: FRAIZER CAMPBELL is hoping his two-goal debut blast for Hull will convince Alex Ferguson he still has a future at Old Trafford.

Campbell, 20, netted twice against Barnsley on Monday night after Manchester United boss Ferguson decided to send the hitman out on loan.

The striker was one of the players the Red Devils boss was angry with in the wake of the 2-0 Carling Cup defeat at the hands of Coventry last month.

He said: “Sir Alex came to the decision that I wasn’t going to get many games, with us being out of the Carling Cup.

“So it was thought that this was the best role for me. In the long term I’m working towards the goal of being a Manchester United player.

“I’m probably a long way off but you’ve just got to keep working and keep doing what the boss wants you to do.

“That’s what I’ve been doing every day in training and now I’m here to learn my trade.

“Alex Ferguson hasn’t said that he’ll come down to watch me but I know the clubs keep in close contact.”
