Scholes: Folks Robbed
Sun: A GANG of knife-wielding burglars held up the terrified parents of Man United star Paul Scholes – then stole their car.
Stewart and Marina Scholes were asleep upstairs when four raiders in balaclavas smashed through their patio doors.
When the couple went downstairs the teenage thugs, armed with two blades and a cricket bat, demanded the keys to their silver Audi.
Two of them fled in the car and the others ran from the house in Middleton, Greater Manchester. The motor was dumped in nearby Crumpsall.
Shaken Stewart, 50, said: “My wife went down to confront them. She screamed at me and I ran down to see them waving knives.
“They were shouting what they were going to do if I didn’t give them the car keys, so I just said, ‘There’s the keys, leave us alone’.”
He said midfielder Paul, 32, was “disgusted”.
