two great teams separated by their supporters. the championship will come down to which set of fans ever responds with the greatest wit on this very blog. sky sports apparantly is going to bid for the broadcast rights although they are worried by the stiff competition from setanta but ITV and the BBC being the more conventional broadcasters fail to see the compelling conflict and the fabulous entertainment value.

The fact is that Man Yoo has always had too many bit part average players. Players like the Nevilles, Fletchers, Silvestres, Browns etc. have always been slightly better than crap and have no recognition in the footballing world at large.

Right now we have better players and have had better players all round for the last two years.

we make a lot of our collapsed season last year but you forget the length of injuries at crunhc times to Henry, Van Persie and Gallas and Rosicky. There was a game in which Arsene had only 11 players to choose from.

If you guys lost Rooney, Ronaldo and Ferdinand would you have done better than we did last season? I think Chelsea would have done worse given how much their season has collapsed aafter losing Drogba and Lampard. I think you guys would just have done about as well.

With this new team Arsenal has, we're ahead of you now, even though you were further ahead last season as a unit. Not anymore.

I would take only one player from your Man U team and you might take none from the Arsenal team but I really do think we have a team with all-round ability.

Think about it. If you had the Captain of Brazil in your team he'd be starting every match. he's been sittingh on our bench. I don't mean that as a brag but as a clear pointer to the form we're in. You can't argue against form.

You guys wer in better form last year but we are this year and our quality is standing out.

I used to love your site but more and more I have become confused with this recent my player is better than your player debate. As an Arsenal fan, I wouldn't mind Vidic and Ronaldo in our team but you trying to convince us that Brown is a great right back or Evra is somehow superior to Clichy doesn't fly for me.
United and Arsenal both have good players and in reality it is difficult for any side to win this debate. I just hope this stupid debate has to do with the game coming up next month or else I might as well stop wasting my time on this blog if there is this little substance to talk about.

The players can not be compared as they are part of the team and everytime richer club can buy better player around the world. This sure a very stupid debate, as Arsene Wenger and Ferguson built their team on different approach. Wenger has built the system, with every player he has in Arsenal A or B team can easily play for the A team at the same level of performance. You can compare Arsenal B team with MU B team at Carling Cup. Ferguson has built on names and at least buy a --80 % finishing article -- player. What is sure is, the team reflects the way of thinking and character of their manager. The main question is, if you take the the luxury from both clubs and give just a standard amount of money (the same amount which has been used at Sunderland), and after two or three season which team will be better ? Arsene's team or Alex's team ? Arsenal or MU ?

I can mentally picture them both grinning manically as they type up their witty ripostes about the difference between Rio Ferdinand and Kolo Toure.

Actually Jftamaela, you cant compare the MU b team anymore, they got bundled out of the Carling Cup Coventry.

Seeing how Man U performed against Coventry at OLD TRAFFORD ITSELF during the recent Carling Cup, I doubt the standards of the youngsters at Man U. Even Fergie admitted himself that he was disappointed after all the trumpeting for Nani and Anderson (30 million plus pounds for both!). Man U have the cash to splash anyway and they are still relying on old Giggsy (a decade and half in 1st team?!) and Scholes.

I bet Man U will try to buy Anelka or Berbatov in January. That is their culture these days, buy the already established first team best from the other premier league teams like Tevez (west ham), saha (fulham), rooney (everton, he once quoted once-a-blue-always-a-blue, more of a granny-chaser these days), carrick (the best from spurs).
