Has Fergie Given Up On A Very Public Grudge?
At last, after many years of a very public grudge, Sir Alex has finally agreed to a BBC interview.
The United manager has snubbed the broadcasting company for years after a documentary made allegations against the business practice of one of his sons.
Ferguson confirmed his public loathing for the corporation earlier this month whilst on a speaking engagement in Scotland. He described the BBC as being “arrogant beyond belief.”
But after being inducted into Dunfermline’s hall of fame, Ferguson agreed to be interviewed by the BBC. Fergie enjoyed his best spell as a player at the club and told BBC Sport: “It’s special to be recognised by the club where I had my biggest impact as a footballer.
“It’s where I played my best football and this is where I appreciated my football most because I was playing with guys who cared about the game.”
Ferguson joined Dunfermline from St Johnstone in 1964 and scored 66 goals in 88 appearances during three seasons with the Fife club.
Fans will have to wait until this weekend’s BBC Match of the Day programme to find out whether Ferguson intends to continue his vow of silence south of the border.
