Anelka: Get Him In
Redville
Knee jerk reaction or not, if there is any possibility of getting him, United need to sign Nicolas Anelka.
As Fergie has been quick to point out, there are fewer born finishers about than ever – but Anelka is one of them. And it’s the sort of speculation that no club in the world would be disappointed to hear about.
United’s displays so far this season don’t provoke feelings of panic. Each one has been dominated by the Reds and it would be far more worrying if the passing, movement and general fluidity was poor. It’s not. It’s very good. But anyone can see that United are missing someone to put the ball in the net. Leaving Tevez up front on his own borders on naivety - at the moment, it’s as if he is playing the killer pass and then having to be the one to get on the end of it. Even away from home, you need to apply pressure on the opposition defenders. However bullish, one small man can’t do that.
Fergie clearly feels that the Rooney – Tevez duo is one that can win the Premier and Champions leagues but what’s wrong with having a financially recouperable short term solution in the absence of ‘The Big Man’? Anelka has fallen out with too many employers, but even if he isn’t in Fergie’s long term plans, at £8 -11m, he can keep United in the title race in the absence of their two best players.
The frustrating thing for fans is that we know we could have him if Fergie just decided to flex his muscle. He could be registered to play against Tottenham next week, with a few days to spare.
It’s so obvious that it’s like a money-making TV phone-in that asks the question: ‘Who is Victoria Beckham married to?’
Come on Fergie. Even if he leaves at the end of the season, you need Nicolas Anelka for the next couple of months at least.

your right mate sir alex needs to admit he is wrong before its too late even though it is the the start of the season and no-one is playing anything like their best football i think its evident that its serious already. no time to emped players we won the title last season by digging out results early and gathering momentum. we need some one to hit it takes pressure off the defence and gives our hundreds of creative players some one to play in we can finish. even if rooney was fit i still dont think he’s the answer he drops to deep for a central striker and likes to float. tevez needs time, saha is too unreliable, and ole is too old. we have no physical presence and that is making us revert to playing around teams like arsenal in stead of bull-dosing over teams like liv and chelsea i think we look a little cocky some times as well like we will always score and win the game 4-1 that bothers me. that attitude has to be earnt im afraid and your luck has to be in like some many times last season. people are still not scared of us and we ‘ve been caught knapping cos were the only ones who didnt know that. come on sir alex i say this without panic but with alot of urgency, anelka has all the attributes of what we need and has everything that our other options dont. if anyone can bring the best out of anelka then its sir alex. he did it with some many of these players over the years. An executive descision has to be made now. no more mucking around with this complicated cocky approach. come on
