Fans Forced Richardson To Sunderland? Give Over Fergie!

Former United player Kieran Richardson was hounded out of the club by unforgiving United fans, Sir Alex has revealed.

“I let him go mainly because some fans were getting on his back and I don’t like that,” the manager told the Sunday Express newspaper. “Kieran has great ability but he isn’t going to flourish if he hasn’t got everyone behind him. So when Sunderland made a good offer, I decided to accept and send him on his way with our best wishes.’’

The manager is entitled to his view on Richardson’s departure but as one of the many fans who were ‘getting on his back,’ I beg to differ.

It was chronic inconsistency and an utter failure to seize the many chances offered that finally did for Richardson.

The plain truth, which even the manager must acknowledge, is that Richardson failed to live up to his youthful potential. And it’s all his own fault.

United fans are mostly generous critics, especially with young players. They gave the lad every chance to do himself justice. Alas, Richardson failed miserably, time after time after time.

So give over Fergie.

If us fans forced Ricardson out what the hell is Fletcher still doing at United? I can count on one hand the people who think he does anything for us.

Good riddance to Richardson and hopefully Fletcher soon.
