Can anyone take another season of Jose Moremoanho? …

Redville

The close season always seems to drag on interminably and this time round was no different. But one thing that I didn’t miss was the constant verbal diarrhoea of Jose Mourinho. Has there ever been a more spoilt child in a man’s body?

Major Moan No.1 – All the players I bought are African

The first moan of the pre-season was about how 5 of his players will have to go to the African Nations Cup in January. Surely someone who gets paid his salary should have been aware of this when he started at Chelsea and bought accordingly. We really don’t want to hear you moaning about it now Jose. It’s like you’re already giving excuses as to why Chelsea won’t win the league.

Of course, he won’t even entertain the possibility that other teams could actually be better than his. As far as he is concerned, the only way Chelsea will lose any competition this season is through sheer bad luck, bad refereeing, injuries and conspiracies against Chelsea. Surely even non-United fans must find this arrogance mind-boggling?

Major Moan No.2 - United have spent more money than us

This particular gripe centres around Man U having loads more to spend than Chelsea. Jose has spent £150 million on players in the last three seasons. Until the close season, United had spent just £30 million in that same period. Who is he trying to fool by pleading poverty? Jose has decided to base his opinions about spending on the last three months rather than the last three years. He would be laughed out of any court in the land on this point. Ask 1000 football fans which English club has spent most money on players in the last few years and 990 will surely reply ‘Chelsea’ Please Jose, whatever you do, don’t moan to us about comparative budgets.

Major Moan No.3 – All our players are dieing but United don’t have any injuries

His third moan was of course about his team’s injury crisis. He said before The Community Shield that Chelsea can hardly put a team out at the moment, whereas Man.Utd are only missing ‘Scholes and maybe Hargreaves’ from the first team. Admittedly, Jose has a lot of short term injuries, but it was clear to any football fan yesterday that United were missing Neville, Scholes, Hargreaves, Saha, Anderson, Heinze, Ji-Sung and the soon to arrive Tevez from their first team ranks. Not exactly fringe players are they?

Furthermore, United dominated and won the shield, without any of the expensive new signings that Jose was moaning about (bar a cameo from Nani). Incredibly, Moremoanho, stated after the Community Shield that Chelsea had ‘controlled the game’. Which game were you referring to Jose?

It takes a monumentally spoilt man to moan about injuries when the team he has put out, was bought for £152 million squid. It was the same of course last season when he lamented his injury list and completely overlooked the fact that United were missing their entire back four, plus Saha and Ji-Sung, for the most important games of the season. Perhaps Jose is trying to mask the fact that his buys have been very hit and miss. Who else could afford expensive mistakes such as Ferreira, Wright-Phillips, Shevchenko, Boulharoudz, Ballack etc.?

Anti-United football fans will have no lack of negative opinions about Fergie, but one thing he doesn’t do is make up ‘facts’ out of thin air. You won’t find Fergie comparing teams’ injuries and leaving out big names like Jose does. Does the coach with more money than any other, actually expect us to feel sorry for him?

In fact, do you know anyone who moans as much as Jose Moremoanho? I feel sorry for the wife. And Roman must feel like he needs a second divorce in a year. Some critics say that Jose adds value to English football with his charisma, but the tide will surely turn if he keeps on acting in this way. It’s getting really boring. And childish. And spoilt.

Grow up Jose, because most people are tired of your lack of humility - even your board doesn’t like you any more.
