Carlos: I Want To Be Boss …
Sky: Carlos Queiroz admits he hopes to replace Sir Alex Ferguson as Manchester United manager and has warned Chelsea of further suffering next season.
United denied Chelsea a Premiership title hat-trick last term and Queiroz is keen to ensure the champions can build on the success.
With three big signings already added to the Old Trafford squad, United’s assistant manager is targeting a clean sweep of trophies.
“We want to go for everything next season,” Queiroz told the People. “We always want the maximum.
“I want the league and Champions League. We came close this season, so we have to take advantage of that experience to try again next season.
“Chelsea suffered last season in the league. We have shown that we have a better squad than Chelsea and that is why we won the league.
“And now we have strengthened our side even more with the arrival of Nani and Anderson. If each one gives us half as much as Cristiano Ronaldo is giving us then we will be more than satisfied.”
Regarding his own future, Queiroz revealed his wish to succeed Ferguson at Old Trafford when the Scot eventually decides to retire.
The Portuguese added: “With just a few changes to the side we are prepared to be champions again.
“Sir Alex Ferguson still has a great desire, even more so after winning the title. He wants to go one step at a time and has no set date for his goodbye. At the moment it is ruled out.
“I am learning every day at this club. It is not up to me, but it is logical that I would like to be one day the manager of Manchester United.”
