Gudjohnsen: No Premiership Return …

Striker Eidur Gudjohnsen wants to stay in Spain unless transfer-listed by Barcelona.

“He really wants to make amends for the last six months at Barcelona, which have been difficult for him,” said Gudjohnsen’s father and agent Arnor Gudjohnsen.

“He wants to do better there next season having now learned how Spanish football is. Of course, you never know what is going to happen. But the fact is I have not heard anything from any clubs in England. Eidur wants to stay where he is.”

The Icelandic star sealed an £8 million transfer from Chelsea to Barcelona last year. But the move has gone sour, with the 28 year old well down the Nou Camp pecking order. This has prompted much speculation that United and other clubs might tempt the player back to the Premiership.
