15/5: Fans’ Wembley Boycott
Sun: CHELSEA fans have stepped up a campaign to highlight their anger towards the Football Association.
Leaflets were distributed at Stamford Bridge yesterday urging supporters to snub official merchandise and beverage outlets at the FA Cup final.
The boycott is being backed by fans from opponents Manchester United in a bid to slash the FA’s profits from Saturday’s showpiece game.
With both clubs allocated just 25,000 tickets each, thousands of supporters have been left without a seat for the first Cup final back at Wembley.
And even the ones who will see the game are furious that tickets were priced as high as £95.
The leaflet said: “At least 21,000 supporters from both sides will have been forced to pay a minimum of £60 for their tickets.
“It appears to us that the FA are making the ordinary football supporter pay in hard cash for the farce that took place over the budgeting, planning and completion of the new Wembley Stadium.
“It is clear that those responsible for recuperating the massive overspend in the Wembley budget are hoping to claw back as much as they can from those attending matches at the stadium.
“Don’t let those running the FA and Wembley take a penny more from you.
“Don’t stuff yourselves — stuff the FA!”
