SAF: United Are Top Guns
Mirror: Sir Alex Ferguson reckons Manchester United have the edge over Arsenal despite the return of Arsene Wenger’s side to the top of the table.
Fergie claims he and his United players are winning a psychological battle in the wake of the 2-2 draw between the sides at the Emirates 11 days ago, secured by William Gallas’s last-gasp equaliser.
“Their dressing room was elated,” said Fergie. “They were celebrating as if they’d won the World Cup, which I found very interesting.
“Our players took something out of that, psychologically, and I think we’re a better team than Arsenal now. They’re a young team and they’re going to be a very good team.

“But we went there when they were on top form and they hardly managed a shot on goal.”
United and Arsenal have resumed their personal duel for the title which was put on hold over the past few seasons after Chelsea clinched back-to-back titles.
But the championship looks like it will be fought out by the two old rivals, with veteran United winger Ryan Giggs - a winner of all nine Premier League crowns under Fergie - endorsing his manager’s view that they hold the upper hand for the long haul.
Also referring to the Gunners’ reaction to snatching a draw in the sides’ recent tussle, Giggs said: “Some of Arsenal’s players thought they’d won the game. I’m not sure we’d have celebrated like that if we’d drawn at home, but I suppose they were excited to score late on.
“Three points were within our grasp and we were robbed at the death. But you’ve got to get on with things and if you look back at the game there last season, when they scored a late winner, we left with a better result this time.
“The way we played gave us a lot of confidence.”
Giggs insists Chelsea and Liverpool cannot be counted out and predicts a four-way tussle for the title. “Whoever puts that string of results together and handles suspensions and injuries better later in the season will probably end up as champions,” he said.
